You'll have plenty of yarn choice for this hat pattern. We choose Panda Woolbale (hand wash only) 8ply. But any standard 8ply/DK/light worsted yarn will be suitable.
Choose your wool with an equivalent ball band tension of 22sts x 30rows using a 4mm (US6 or UK8) knitting needle.
If you prefer to work with acrylics, that's fine but be aware your hat won't be as warm, it will have a more "open" texture. All our patterns always include metric and imperial measurements and yarn substitutions to suit both Australian and International knitters. .
