Here's how to knit a hat

from top down

with funky fur or flurry type yarn

How to knit a hat beginning at the crown will no longer be a mystery once you've knitted this fun hat with its optional rolled brim.

Ever wondered how to knit the perfect depth hat - whether you have a long thin head - or a short fat head ! This hat provides the solution....

And an added bonus - no seams to sew. You begin with double pointed needles dpns (actually you can knit the whole hat with dpns if you wish), when you've finished increasing either change to a circular needle or continue with your dpns to finish your hat.

If you have a circular needle handy (60cms or approx 24inches length is best for hats) you'll find knitting this hat is super fast.

It usually takes me less than an evening to knit one of these hats, so, if you're an experienced knitter - begin one night - wear it next day.... Even beginner circular knitters will easily finish it in two evenings, and of course we include our contact help link within the pattern - any questions - just ask.

All our patterns include metric and imperial measurements (i.e. cms and inches) and yarn suggestions to suit knitters worldwide.
