The version you see in the photo below is mine. This cute little handbag was one of the first bags I designed using self striping yarn in preference to working out random stripes myself.
Patons Jet 12ply or substitutePatons Jet (check your ball band says 30% alpaca 70% wool) is readily available from knitting wool stores worldwide and online. it’s excellent for felting bags and is very reasonably priced. If however, you’re unable to obtain this alpaca-wool blend, for some reason, substitute any self striping 12 ply (heavy worsted) wool. Simply choose one with a ball band tension of 16.5 sts to 22 rows based on 5.5mm needles. (We’ve included both metric and imperial measurements and needle sizes within the pattern.)

This pattern begins with double pointed needles (dpns) then moves to circular needles - making all rounds knit - it's fast.....
