We used Panda Magnum 8ply for the illustrated purse - you'll have no problems finding a suitable yarn for this project - 8ply/dk/light worsted/3 yarn is readily available and reasonably priced in almost all countries - or if you live in a very warm climate use the equivalent knitting cotton for a summer purse.
