Basic knitting stitches

We've designed this pattern specifically for beginner knitted purse makers and provide directions for the stitches you'll use within our free knitting lessons section.

No matter where your reside you'll have no trouble locating yarn for this project - use either wool or acrylic or a blend

Your pattern includes both imperial and metric(i.e. cms and inches) sizes, instructions, yarn suggestions and needle sizes .

This pattern is fast and easy and includes knitting directions and photographs of the various steps required. Once you've finished your beginner knitted purse you will have learned how to: -

• Knit a basic purse shape
• Make and attach a handle
• Create and attach a knitted flower decoration
• Stiffen a purse
• Construct and insert a simple lining

You will also have learned to finish-off an item to a professional standard.
